After twenty grueling weeks and 156 games, the longest AFL regular season has come to close. Lucky for you, this final regular season edition of Breaking it Down is perhaps the longest single article about the AFL in league history. Nearly 7,000 words of wisdom chock full of nuggets, morsels and all sorts of chewy and yummy AFL notes that'll fill you up while you're not watching live AFL playoff games in your living room this week.

As I was taping the podcast as a guest on the AFL Roundtable last night, I was discussing the idea of putting Arena Football teams in cities where the AFL has already failed, and in some cases failed miserably. We saw it with all of the franchises in the Carolinas. We saw it with a number of franchises in Texas.

And then there were four. The top two seeds in the National Conference advanced while the bottom two seeds in the American Conference won on the road. Milwaukee and Spokane are left in the National, while the league's greatest rivalry will meet for the eighth time in the postseason in the American side (Orlando and Tampa Bay).
