Minnesota Woman with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer and Terminal Diagnosis Encourages Early Screening
KSTP Carrie said she has been living a wonderful life. She is grateful for a loving fiancé, a good dog, and an active lifestyle. Tiggas said she was not getting annual pap smears. "I definitely thought I was invincible. You know, I was a healthy 36-year-old. I was in the prime of my life," she said. Last year, she was in an Idaho doctor's office, for what they thought was a bacterial infection. Finally, she got a pap smear. That same month she got the call she never imagined. Carrie was diagnosed with stage-four terminal cancer. She had a terminal diagnosis of just one more year of life.
