The Butcher's Hook pub in Thornbury will not be reopening after lockdown. The high street pub has been closed for much of the last 12 months as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Opened in 2018, landlord Pete Tiley wanted the traditional wet-led pub to have a focus on 'quality local drinks and socialising rather than dining'. The pub was therefore badly impacted by South Gloucestershire's high tier rating and the national lockdowns, with pubs only able to serve takeaways for several months.
