Emergency services respond to spate of suspicious car fires in Horowhenua
This burnt car was found in Gladstone Reserve, Levin on June 13. Kennedy said the first car was on the side of State Highway 1 at Ōhau, near McLeavey Rd. It had broken down and been left on the side of the road for a couple of days, before it was set on fire. Kennedy said just as they were wrapping up, firefighters from Levin and Ōtaki were sent an incident where multiple cars were on fire on State Highway 1 at Manakau. He said the cars on fire were being stored in a paddock on the highway, among many other cars. It was undetermined how both fires started.
