Bronx: I’ve come to find out that the NYC Department of Homeless Services has a rule that single people who are staying at shelters have to leave their beds from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and stay out all day. This is why there are so many homeless people roaming the streets of New York — they have nowhere to go. A lot of these people get so accustomed to being outside, not to mention being kicked out of the place that is supposed to be a roof over their heads, that they’d rather stay outside and fend for themselves.
