The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams are back on the floor Friday when they welcome the North Cedar Knights to Wellman for a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls come into the game at 2-2 on the year, after a 49-43 loss to Iowa City Regina at home Tuesday. Maddie Nonnenmann led the way for Mid-Prairie with 20. For the season, the Hawks are paced by Nonnenmann at 13 points per game. She’s also tied with Esther Hughes for the team lead at seven boards per contest. Hughes and Myah Lugar each dish out three assists per game. North Cedar comes in at 0-3 on the year, they fell to Camanche on Tuesday 43-35 despite Aubrey Carstensen and Maddie Michels 12pts. On the season, Jenna Syring scores 12 points per game to lead the way. She has also grabbed a team high 14 boards per game. Sam Koth averages two assists per contest. In their meeting last year, the Golden Hawks beat the Knights 56-43. ....
