Golden Hawks Go North Friday

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams make the long road trip to Camanche Friday to battle the Indians. The Golden Hawk girls come into the night with an 8-7 record on the year after a 38-33 Senior Night win over Tipton Tuesday. In the victory against the Tigers, the Hawks were led by Maddie Nonnenmann with 13 points and Phelan Hostetler with 11. On the year, Mid-Prairie is paced by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per night. Amara Jones is averaging four assists and three steals per game.
Camanche is 3-12 on the season. The Indians were beaten Tuesday 52-33 by Cascade. For the year they are led by Aubrey Carstensen at eight points and six rebounds per game. These two teams met a year ago with the Golden Hawks winning 51-29 in Wellman. ....

Hawks Meet Knights Friday

The Golden Hawk girls come into the game at 2-2 on the year, after a 49-43 loss to Iowa City Regina at home Tuesday. Maddie Nonnenmann led the way for Mid-Prairie with 20. For the season, the Hawks are paced by Nonnenmann at 13 points per game. She’s also tied with Esther Hughes for the team lead at seven boards per contest. Hughes and Myah Lugar each dish out three assists per game. North Cedar comes in at 0-3 on the year, they fell to Camanche on Tuesday 43-35 despite Aubrey Carstensen and Maddie Michels 12pts. On the season, Jenna Syring scores 12 points per game to lead the way. She has also grabbed a team high 14 boards per game. Sam Koth averages two assists per contest.
