FULTON -- For the first time since 2018, William Woods University advanced to the American Midwest Conference Championship final as Tolton graduate Sam Poehlmann scored the deciding goal Monday at Firley Field.
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. -- In need of a win to stay in the top half of the AMC standings, William Woods (5-7-3, 2-1-2 AMC) found its scoring touch on the road, as Lauren Helmert bagged a brace and four other Owls chipped in goals in a 6-1 win over Williams Baptist (0-12-1, 0-5-1 AMC) on Saturday. Cindy Gonzalez also had a multi-point game for Woods, adding an assist to her goal.
