Seventy-one years ago today (Jan. 3, 1950) was an historic day for country music, although no one was aware of it at the time: It was on that date that the famous Sun Studio -- home of future recordings from Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, among others -- opened in Memphis, Tenn.
