Hudson, a travel experience leader with more than 1,000 stores in airports, commuter hubs, landmarks and tourist destinations across North America, today announced it will bring its innovative Hudson Nonstop concept, powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, to a new North American airport destination with a location at Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW).
Slated to open in mid-2021, just a few months after the successful inaugural store opening at Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL), Hudson Nonstop at MDW celebrates effortless convenience and unrivaled purchasing speed across all touchpoints of the shopping experience.

1. Be flexible in tenders
Airports must build flexibility into tender offers according to
PT&M Managing Director Eric Trichot. He warned that fixed requirements will damage the standard of bids which the tender receives in the current environment.
He said: “When a crisis is ongoing…it creates major uncertainty on the level of traffic and scenarios of recovery. All the fixed parameters in the tender become a problem; they were acceptable in the stable environment and they could be potential deal breakers or generate low bids in a very uncertain environment.”

IAADFS and ASUTIL confirm further speakers for virtual Americas summit

The International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libres (ASUTIL)
have confirmed the addition of Jane Ewing, Senior Vice President Sustainability, Walmart as a speaker for the upcoming virtual 2021 Summit of the Americas
(5-9 April 2021).
Ewing leads Walmart’s sustainability team and efforts, which prioritise people and the planet by aiming to source responsibly, sell sustainable products, restore natural resources and reduce waste and emissions.
These initiatives will be discussed in a special session at the Summit, which will address sustainability as a core business value in retail and travel retail.

The International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) has confirmed the latest list of speakers for the 2021 Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience.
The IAADFS Summit of the Americas will take place virtually in 2021
The 2021 iteration of Summit of the Americas will take place online from 5-9 April as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Due to speak at the Knowledge Hub are: Martin Eurnekian, chief executive officer of Corporación América Airports; Roger Fordyce, Hudson CEO; Jackie McDonagh, ARI-North America general manager; Aurelia Barria, Motta Internacional senior vice president; Sammy Patel, Midway Partnership CEO and Vantage Airport Group chief commercial officer; Eric Trichot, PT&M managing director; and Jane Ewing, Walmart senior vice president.
