Clarabell M. Demers, 113 passed away January 17, 2024. Clarabell was born November 3, 1910, in Acton Township to Philomina (Minnie) and Victor Campbell. Clarabell attended St. Aloysius Academy of Oakwood. Clarabell helped local families with caring for their babies and doing housework until 1930 when she married Frederick Demers. The couple made their home on a farm near Oakwood and together raised their three children, MaryJane, Donald, and Ronald. Madelyn Hoffer, 86, of Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023. Madelyn was born February 8, 1937 to Theodore and Rosella Dewald. Most of her youth was spent in Streeter, ND where she attended school through 8th grade and then worked at Dewald’s Fairway the family business. Her community involvement and caring for people started early as she was involved in church, 4-H, dairy princess and community medical training. She later completed her GED in 1968 when her youngest child started attending school.
