Two boys were shot near the Trax station in Sandy

Two boys, ages 12 and 14, were injured in a shooting in Sandy on Friday evening. Police Sgt. Clayton Swensen said the boys are at the hospital. He said their injuries are not life-threatening. The shooting happened shortly after 5 p.m. at the Trax station near 200 E 8800 S. Swensen said police got multiple calls about shots being fired. It is not yet clear whether the boys knew the shooter. Swensen said police are at the hospital waiting to interview the victims. He said police think a white passenger car may have been involved.
