Sanibel elections: Six candidates vie for three open council seats

Sanibel residents will take to the polls Tuesday to vote in three new city council members from a pool of six candidates.
The non-partisan race will fill vacancies left by Mayor Mick Denham, whose term expires this year; and councilmembers Chauncey Goss and Jerry Muench, who were temporarily appointed to fill vacancies when Kevin Ruane and Jason Maughan left to run campaigns for other offices.
After the election, councilmembers will return to appoint a new mayor and vice mayor during a March 16 meeting. ....
