Mission Creek Bridge focus of proposed safety improvements and preservation

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The City of Santa Barbara will revisit proposed changes to the historic Mission Creek Bridge and Mission Canyon Rd. for the first time in three years. The area between the Old Santa Barbara Mission and Rocky Nook Park is arguably one of the most bucolic corridors in Santa Barbara. The crossing is also the subject of fierce debate. 
In May of 2018, the Santa Barbara City Council gave the go-ahead to move forward on the Mission Canyon Bridge Project. At the time, more than $1 million in funding was earmarked for design and environmental studies. ....

School District Considers $1.2 Million Window Replacement Project at Santa Barbara High

The Santa Barbara Unified School District is looking to replace 102 windows at the Santa Barbara High School campus, a move that would cost the district about $1.26 million.
Funding for the project would come out of Measure I bond funds.
The school board was set to vote on the project on Feb. 9, but it was removed from the agenda so the project could be reviewed by the Santa Barbara Historic Landmarks Commission. ....
