Thundermist to offer COVID-19 treatment with $20K CVS Health grant THUNDERMIST HEALTH CENTER of Woonsocket says patients will now have access to an infusion treatment for COVID-19 thanks to a grant from CVS Health Corp. WOONSOCKET – Thundermist Health Center says it plans to use a $20,000 grant from CVS Health Corp. to strengthen its response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Woonsocket. The funds will allow the health system to offer monoclonal antibody treatment, an infusion therapy, for residents infected with COVID-19, and to continue its efforts to make vaccines accessible to all. “This grant will help save lives. It will also bring the vaccine directly to where people live,” said Dr. Sapna Chowdhry, medical director of Thundermist Health Center of Woonsocket and an infectious disease specialist. ....

WOONSOCKET – Thundermist Health Center began vaccinating healthcare workers at its three sites in Woonsocket, West Warwick and South County against COVID-19 this week. Employees received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Nearly 400 employees, many of whom have been on the front lines providing care and testing in the center s respiratory clinics, were expected to receive the vaccine by the end of the week. “Our employees have been on the frontlines of this crisis. Their bravery, dedication and sacrifices helped many in our community during the last ten months. Vaccinating our health care workforce means our nearly 700 employees will continue to be able to serve our community and help limit the spread of COVID-19, said Thundermist President/CEO Jeanne LaChance. ....
