A SOMERSET village has backed the installation of a rainbow coloured zebra crossing. Evercreeh Parish Council voted in favour of the plans at a meeting on Tuesday, December 1 - with a casting vote by chairman Rob Reed. Sarah Beare campaigned for the zebra crossing on the main road in Evercreech (Prestleigh Road) and Councillor Barry O’Leary asked the council to vote on a “Technicolor upgrade”. Cllr Barry O'Leary “Rainbows now have so many meanings - not only will they brighten your day and have been used as a symbol of hope during Covid, but have always stood for happiness and inclusion,” he said.
