After suffering complications from back surgery a few years ago, Emily Troiano became lethargic, spending too much time in front of the television and worried about losing her mobility. But last year, alone on her couch, she saw a news account of a Pennsylvania family who wanted to thank frontline essential workers — those in hospitals, veterinary practices, public safety, schools and food service.
