bars and he may be there for the rest of his life. the jury found the former penn state assistant coach guilty on abusing boys. sandusky was immediately taken away and booked into the county jail. he is now under suicide watch and less than 24 hours after his conviction, cnn cameras caught this moment, his wife dottie sandusky showing up today at the jail where her husband is being held. cnn national correspondent susan candiotti joins us now from pennsylvania with reaction to the verdict. susan, we heard just a few minutes ago that one of sandusky s lawyers just made a startling revelation. what can you tell us about what was said? reporter: hi, fred. we ve known throughout the lead-up to this trial that his defense team kept asking the judge for more time, more time, more time to push back the start date of the trial and each time they were turned down. the brand new information we re learning today from the defense team is that as recently as the day before jury se ....

deliberating 21 hours. and this was the reaction outside the courthouse. [ applause ] sandusky was placed under arrest and booked into the county jail in bellfont, pennsylvania. he was placed in protective custody away from other inmates and is now on suicide watch. susan candiotti joins us with pennsylvania with reaction from the verdict. one of the jurors spoke out. what did he say? reporter: this one juror said they felt all the victims were credible because of the stories that they told about the abuse that they suffered and certainly all of them talking about very similar things over the course of many years. this juror spoke with nbc s today show. we looked at the inconsistencies and some of the testimony. we wanted to reconcile those and make sure that that was, you know wouldn t discredit the testimony. so we worked through those things systematically as a jury. we worked together very well. reporter: in fact, they worked out apparently any disagreemen ....

Where the campaign is getting decided now? clearly the battleground states. looking at ohio, looking at north carolina. and i think romney is doing very well in ohio right now. he is ahead by a couple points within the margin of error. north carolina, i think he s got a real shot, especially as the president came out supporting guy marriage. if he picks up florida and is ahead in florida by according to the latest poll from quinnipiac by six points. but senator, it s the states not in there. no florida right now, no pennsylvania. sometimes you say to yourself, and interestingly, colorado hasn t even cracked the top ten. that may change. again, this is saturation, this is not about money. more money being spent in florida because it s so expensive. it is interesting that virginia and north carolina, two states we had really talked about in 12 years suddenly at the forefront. well, but i think you ve also got senate races in those places too that are going to make a difference. i ....
