Progresses, if the unemployment rate continues to fall, we may see the fed s scaling back a bit. a couple points to remember, the fed, and i would agree with them, doesn t necessarily think it s that $85 billion a month in purchases that matter so much. it s just the fact they are keeping the balance sheet large. if they stop buying, but all of that money is still sloshing around in the system, that is still going to be very supportive obviously for the financial markets and the economy. the other thing to keep in mind, as we get the fed into this situation where they re needing to provide less support, that s because the economy is doing much better. as they pull out, because a lot of people say the minute the fed bails out of this thing, take all your money out of the stock markets and move somewhere else. the fed pulls out, that s a signal that the market is life support, right, like you re taking somebody off life support because they re brighting on their own. all the medicine ....

you re right. the fed you laid it out exactly what s happening and how the transmission mechanism is working. that s exactly putting pressure and bringing down interest rates and yields and it s pushing people into the equity market. the fed has been very clear as the labor market improves their need to continue to buy at that pace is going to be reduced. so there s a lot of concern in the marketplace that as the year progresses, if the unemployment rate continues to fall, we may see the fed s scaling back a bit. a couple points to remember, the fed, and i would agree with them, doesn t necessarily think it s that $85 billion a month in purchases. it s just the fact they are keeping the balance sheet large. all that money is still sloshing around in the system, that s still going to be very supportive for the financial markets and the economy. ....

The price has fallen through the floor. companies like solo power, and by the way, sun tech, which has just gone into bankruptcy court in china, bankrupt. that s what s happened here. green energy, despite a generation of subsidies, has not arrived on the scene properly and we re paying for it. alisyn: here is what the former portland mayor has to say about the company. solo power survives by down scaling and being responsible with the resources they have by reducing costs and being able to wait out hopefully until congress passes new energy tax credits. wait and maybe we ll get some more money from the taxpayer? that s how we ll keep going. what kind of a project is that? brian: looking at our energy situation, stewart, you would think all signs would point to natural gas. that s where we re heading. that s where we re clear. that s where america could be the saudi arabia of natural gas. isn t it obvious? we have a ton of natural gas. ....

Gone up 33 days in a row yet. are we there yet? everything seems to be going up at the moment. i don t know if you ve seen the dow this morning. scaling new heights here and we neat a positive catalyst to push us sustainably high. back to the pump. if you feel like you re paying more, you are. the current average is $3.75 a gallon, nationwide average and 15 cents higher than a week and 44 cents higher than a month ago and we haven t gotten to the summer driving season. it has a lot to do with the number of refinery closings as opposed to just underlying crude prices but, boy, it hurts when you fill up. no kidding. pardon the pun. a whopper of a public relations nightmare for burg king! i will excuse you for that pun! burger king has not really been sold to mcdonald s despite what it said on burger king s twitter ....

To be honest with them and straightforward with them and let them make those decisions. gretchen: did this come about because of the shootings in recent history at the schools and that sort of thing, or were you going to do this no matter what? well, the burglaries and robberies that have been going on in the milwaukee area have been going on for quite some time. at some point, especially with the scaling back of public safety resources, last year i had to lay off 42 sheriffs deputies. the city of milwaukee police department furloughed for this year 1500 officers three days each. that s 4500 fewer officer days or days that officers will spend on the streets while the crime continuing it on and calls for service continue to come in. so there is a breaking point at some point and again, it s my obligation in light of that, i could sit back and whine about the fact that we don t have the resources or can t get there quickly or better prepare the public, give them some options. ....
