Ohio River Paddlefest Ohio River Paddlefest is the nation’s largest paddling celebration, with 2,000 participants traveling through downtown Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky in canoes, kayaks and other human-powered craft while the Ohio River is closed to motorized traffic. Established in 2001, the event benefits Adventure Crew. Registration is required; paddlers can choose between the 9-mile paddle or the 4.5-mile Paddlefest MINI. A limited number of rental boats can be reserved in advance.

Summertime fun abounds with Paddlefest, free Shakespeare shows, a new musical, a hot sauce soiree, live blues, sports, and goetta.

Paddlers can choose between the traditional 9-mile paddle and a half-distance (4.5-mile) Paddlefest MINI. The paddle concludes with a festival featuring beer, music and food. Event proceeds benefit Adventure Crew, which takes city teens in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky on free outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking and kayaking.
