More than 1.7 million students in Pennsylvania will be able to get breakfast for free under a new plan.

The plan will be paid for with money from the previous year's School Food Services General Fund appropriation.

It has been announced that the Fairfield Public School District will be implementing a program available to schools participating in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). All enrolled students of Fairfield PSD #112 are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no cost to your household each day of the school year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced it has signed a $3,458,752.00 cooperative agreement with Minnesota to increase their purchase of nutritious, local foods for school meal programs. Minnesota is the first state to enter into a cooperative agreement under the program.
