A school board member caused outrage in Ohio by standing on a street corner off school property to personally monitor students' clothing.
"Educational institutions are secular public places and are meant to impart knowledge and wisdom employment, good health and contribute to nation building, not to follow essential and non-essential religious practices," the PIL argued.
It says if the infraction is not addressed, the student will lose recess and will not be allowed to participate in other school activities.
"It was a little sexist before because girls couldn't wear tank tops at Volcano Vista [High School], boys could," said Timmy Simms, a dad of a Volcano Vista High School student.
