EV Batteries are Sensitive to Hellish Paint Oven Heat
During a recent test of the Honda Accord Hybrid, we encountered an interesting warning placard posted in the driver’s door sill, where it cannot be missed. The notice reads: “High temperature may damage the high-voltage battery used to power the electric motor. When drying paint in a heated paint booth, make sure the temperature does not exceed 150° F.” As more electrified vehicles hit the streets, more of them will hit each other, resulting in a trip to the body shop.
