Lifting Erie County families from the economic shock of COVID-19 and into a new, post-pandemic future will likely be the biggest challenge for the next County Council. And with three seats on the seven-member body up for election this year, the onus will be on voters to decide who best to meet that challenge come 2022. Erie County Councilman Carl Anderson will serve as chairman of the seven-member body in 2021 and Kim Clear will be vice-chair. The selection of Anderson was made during a reorganizational meeting Tuesday. It is customary for the person who served as vice chairman during the preceding year to be promoted to chairman. Anderson replaces Councilman Andre Horton in the leadership role. I m honored to be your leader, Anderson told his six colleagues Tuesday. But I will also be a listener.
