Progress is being made to improve export systems for Scottish seafood, a meeting between industry and government has heard.
Discussions took place during the seventh meeting of the Scottish seafood exports taskforce, which brings together key industry figures from the fishing industry with officials and senior politicians from the UK Government and Scottish Government.
UK Government Minister for Scotland David Duguid chaired the meeting and said the taskforce had tackled problems which affected the seafood sector since Britain’s exit from the EU, many relating to paperwork now required by the EU.

Fisheries Minister Victoria Prentis said the quotas will help to ensure the UK is a “responsible independent coastal state” for the "first time in 40 years".
Under the proposed UK figures, it is expected that UK fishermen will receive an increase in quota for 57 species of fish.
However, shares for species such as Channel cod will not change with EU boats catching more than 90 percent of the species each year.
Whitehall sources close to the negotiations told Express.co.uk Brussels were being “difficult” in their stance.

Funding for Scottish ports and harbours that have lost income from landing fees due to Brexit disruption has been increased by the Scottish Government.
Ports and harbours that have been affected financially following Brexit have been able to apply for money to go towards safety improvements and repair works.
The fund was originally set at £1 million, but the Scottish Government has now announced it is to be increased by an additional £800,000.
A total of 14 ports and harbours have been allocated funding so far, with ongoing discussions over applications at a further six sites.

Ports and harbours across the north that have lost income from landing fees due to the disruption caused by Brexit have received a share of a £1.8 million fund.
The money will provide necessary investment at ports and harbours for safety improvements and repair works.
Included in the support package is £180,000 to install shore power for the fishing fleet at Mallaig, £534,979 for repair work at Fraserburgh and £182,000 for new lighting and a fish landing crane at Lerwick Port.
