Jordon Cooper says Tuesday is like a dream come true.
He and three other furloughed Orlando hotel employees were presented with full-ride scholarships to pursue an associate's degree at Valencia College.
It's the American Hotel & Lodging Foundation's Empowering Youth Program scholarship.
"It's like winning the lottery and you find out you actually won and now I can go the school and follow my dream and now make sure all my dreams become reality,” Cooper said.
Cooper, like other students, graduated from Second Harvest's Culinary Training Program. He landed his first job only to be furloughed because of the pandemic.
