Pag-IBIG releases record P1-B housing loans in 2021

MANILA - The Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) last year financed PHP100.8 billion worth of housing loans, the highest ever released by the agency in a year despite the continuing Covid-19 pandemic. Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Eduardo del Rosario, who also heads the 10-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, said the in-home loan disbursements contributed to the economic recovery efforts of the government. "While the country is still facing challenges caused by the pandemic, I am happy to report that Pag-IBIG released more than PHP100 billion in home loans in 2021, surpassing its best-ever figure which it achieved in 2019, before the health crisis started," del Rosario said in a statement on Friday. (File photo) MANILA - The government has formally institutionalized its intensive drive and measures against illegal activities related to real estate property and other housing projects in the country. Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario signed a memorandum of agreement with the representatives of the Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines over the weekend to formalize their partnership for a nationwide crackdown against real estate scammers. The move is part of the DHSUD's Special Order No. 2021-002, creating a technical working group (TWG) that will institutionalize the department's intensified drive on anti-illegal real estate practices. TFBM implementing bodies to finish Marawi rehab after PRRD's term

(File photo) MANILA The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) on Thursday assured that the implementation of all the infrastructure projects in Marawi City will continue even beyond the term of President Rodrigo Duterte's administration on June 30. TFBM chief and housing czar, Secretary Eduardo del Rosario, said the government expects the estimated 85 percent of the overall completion rate of the Marawi rehabilitation in the first week of December last year.
