Fuel spill brings Coast Guard, environmental agencies to Maurice River
LEESBURG – The Coast Guard and environmental agencies are monitoring a marine diesel fuel spill from an off-shore supply vessel anchored in the Maurice River. The spill, just south of Leesburg, was reported about 9 a.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Cmdr. Fredrick Pugh, chief of incident management for Sector Delaware Bay. The Coast Guard, the state Department of Environmental Protection, and Cumberland County environmental representatives responded to area.
