This time next week, South Africans will be casting their ballots in the local government elections, and questions around safety have been raised, given the recent, politically motivated killings in parts of the country.
The Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster says the country is ready for next week's local government elections.
Security cluster Ministers said each voting station in South Africa has been categorised as high, medium or low risk. Law enforcement resources on Election Day will be distributed accordingly.
The Western Cape, the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal have been identified as high risk, the police minister said.
