Recoveries top new cases for 11th day

MALAYSIA recorded more recoveries for 11 consecutive days yesterday, where a total of 2,506 patients have been discharged, bringing the total recoveries to 291,958.In comparison, 1,683 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected, of which 1,673 were local transmissions and 10 were import cases.Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor recorded the highest daily cases with 746 cases, followed by Sarawak (201) and Penang (172).

THE Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be enforced at the Muar Rehabilitation Centre (PPA) from today until Jan 6 next year, due to the high infectivity rate. Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Ministry of Health (MoH) has conducted 726 screening tests at the PPA, where 20 positive cases have been detected among detainees. “Based on the risk assessment, MoH found that the rate of infection is high. Lembah Pantai student has dengue, Covid-19 test still pending

THE Ministry of Health (MoH) is awaiting the results of the Covid-19 test of a form five student from a Lembah Pantai school who was reportedly infected on Tuesday.Health DG Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the student had undergone both dengue and Covid-19 screenings.“The dengue screening results were positive, but we are still waiting for the Covid-19 test result from the laboratory.“We want to ensure there is no cross-response during the tests which may occur as he is infected with dengue fever,” he said in his Covid-19 statement yesterday.
