After months of deliberation, the City Council voted Wednesday to leave the Selkirk Joint Powers Association, with Mayor Jeremy Grimm breaking a tie in favor of leaving.
Lengthy discussion and dense public comment were followed by a motion to continue in the Selkirk Fire joint powers agreement for another year at a special council meeting Wednesday.
A special meeting regarding a joint powers agreement between the Sandpoint, Sagle and Westside fire departments is being held Wednesday, March 27, at Sandpoint City Hall.
The city council unanimously voted Wednesday to extend the Selkirk Fire Joint Powers Agreement from the end of April to June 30 to allow for further discussion regarding the JPA’s benefits.
