Even then, he knew he would one day have a career in Law. “I was inspired by the work of former Senator John Land,” Caldwell recalled, “I loved to watch him both in the senate and as he practiced law.” Caldwell then went on to attend Clemson University, where he majored in Civil Engineering. Upon graduating from Clemson in 1991, he moved to North Carolina where he worked in the engineering field for a time. “I was sure I wanted a career in law,” Caldwell said, “But at the time, my family also wanted to be sure I could find steady employment. They encouraged me to study engineering and work in the field for a time, so I did.”
