this is a country that was letting foreign fighters in to syria against our national interests. this is a country that is doing nothing about al qaeda along its border with syria. this is a country that wants to get a land grab of what is historical kurdish homes. this is a country that violated both nato principles and u.s. law by purchasing a russian missile system and the list goes on and on. so the bottom line is that we have been an enabler of turkey. it is time to give turkey a consequence through the sanctions that we've called for, senator rish and i have legislation that does that and senator graham and van hollen have another version of just sanctions. at the end of the day it is time to give them a consequence this type of action by a nato ally is simply not acceptable. >> democratic senator bob menendez, thank you for your
