The third of six session in a series called “Living with Alzheimer’s” will be held at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center located at 445 Fairview in Ponca City. A light lunch will be served at 11:30 am and the program will begin at noon.
Jessie Sutton, 93, doesn't like publicity and would never ask for attention, said Jayne Wright-Velez, executive director of the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. So for National Volunteers Week, the Food Bank surprised and publicly honored the founder of the Senior Resource Program with a bouquet of flowers and a gift last Wednesday. It also marked Sutton's retirement from operating a program where she made and served lunch to seniors every Wednesday at her church, the Church of God in Pineville.
