[헤럴드경제=정경수 기자] 바이낸스 등 해외 가상자산 거래소가 정부에 신고하지 않고 국내에서 영업한다면 9월 이후에는 불법으로 제재를 받게 된다.
22일 금융위원회는 최근 국회 정무위원회에 제출한 서면답변서에서 “외국 가상자산거래업자들이 FIU(금융정보분석원)에 신고하지 않고 내국인을 대상으로 영업하는 것은 특정금융거래정보법상 불법”이라며 “신고유예기간 종료 이후 대응조치를 검토하고 있다”고 밝혔다.
금융위는 또 “이용자들에게 외국 가상자산거래업자의 미신고 영업이 불법임을 알리고 이용하지 않도록 홍보할 계획”이라고 예고했다.
가상자산 거래소는 특금법에 따라 9월 24일까지 정보보호관리체계(ISMS) 인증과 실명계좌 등 전제 조건을 갖춰 FIU에 신고해야 한다.
