Sercomm Corp., leading global manufacturer of telecoms and broadband equipment based in Taiwan, is investing P2.5 billion in Calamba, Laguna to transform the Philippines as its regional hub for the production of professional networking equipment.

Telecom equipment supplier Sercomm Corp (中磊) on Wednesday said that it has accumulated a large backlog of orders, thanks to resilient demand for broadband infrastructure deployment worldwide. The backlog would keep shipments robust through the first half of next year, Sercomm said, adding that only 80 percent of orders can be filled due to component shortages and other supply chain issues. MANUFACTURERS <strong>Sercomm revenue rises</strong> Telecom equipment maker Sercomm Corp (中磊) yesterday posted revenue of NT$3.78 billion (US$135.65 million) for last month, the second-highest monthly figure in the company’s history. Revenue rose 4 percent year-on-year from NT$3.64 billion and was up 6 percent from NT$3.58 billion in September.
