Construction will begin May 30, in Sandpoint to widen U.S. 2 south of its interchange with U.S. 95. Crews will build another lane for southbound traffic between the interchange and the visitor center.
There’s some good news for area drivers: the detour of Sagle Road was lifted Thursday. And, Idaho Transportation Department officials said, the new signal at U.S. 95 and Sagle Road is expected to go live next Friday.
Work on the Sagle Road intersection will take another step forward next week. Idaho Transportation Department officials said the road will be closed Monday, April 24 as part of an effort to widen and realign the roadway. The road will be closed from the the highway to Lignite Road for up to a month.
