Two brothers are accused of illegally killing a deer and fox, as Massachusetts State Police look into whether the pair are responsible for past poaching incidents in the region.
COLRAIN — Massachusetts State Troopers and Massachusetts Environmental Police Officers arrested two men Saturday evening for alleged poaching activities, including the fatal shooting of a deer from a vehicle and the killing of a gray fox. At 6:10 p.m. Saturday, the State Police-Shelburne Falls Barracks received a call regarding a deer shot on Shelburne Line
Two Mass. brothers were charged with hunting from a truck, killing a deer with a rifle, and hunting a fox out of season, among other charges.
Investigators are now working to determine whether the siblings are habitual poachers responsible for several illegal hunts over the last two years.
