Damage associated with the severe storms that are marching eastward. it is all associated with this cold front, that is the triggering mechanism for the thunderstorms that develop. of course a lot of hot humid air in place across that region. and this is going to provide the recipe, the ingredients necessary for the recipe for severe storms to develop once again. in fact we ve just got the latest update from the storm prediction center. look at that shading of orange raleigh to atlanta to montgomery, those are the areas that we need to pay particular attention to the weather today. damaging winds, large hail and a few strong tornadoes are possible. in fact the storm prediction center has identified two particular locations across the carolinas and into georgia and portions of eastern alabama that have a 10% proebability of tornadoes. so that means anywhere from about a 25 mile radius of a particular point there is a 10% possibility of a tornado occurring within that region. here is the ....

5% of tornadoes anywhere you see that shading of yellow. that basically means there is a 5% or 10% probability of a tornado impacting that particular point within a 25-mile radius. that s what that equates to. here s the severe weather threat. breaking it down timing wise, atlanta between 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. the storm move eastward across the carolinas by this afternoon and evening. and then i m picking up on some heavy rainfall threat across the mid atlanta. the weather system has a slight risk of flash flooding from southern pennsylvania into western maryland. two to three inches of rainfall. maybe some higher localized amounts with some of the storms that are moving through that area. a very active severe weather threat and flood threat for today. not to mention, triple digit heat starting to form in the deep south. we ll keep an eye on all that. thank you. u.s. law enforcement officials are warning a potential violence in washington and nationwide in the wake. ....

Our eyes. we have an extreme fire risk from southeast colorado into portions of kansas once again strong winds, warm temperatures, very low relative humidities. those are all the factors that the storm prediction center or the national weather service puts in when they decide to put up these red flag warnings advising people to take care. now, look at the winds alone, we anticipate these to gust anywhere from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour through this afternoon and evening starting to get a little bit better as we go forward in time through the course of the weekend. and the other weather headline is the severe weather. look at that shading of red, this is where the storm prediction center has highlighted storms all the way to oklahoma city. need to keep an eye to the sky. storm s evolution over the next 24 to 36 hours shows the severe weather advancing further east into chicago by saturday. ....
