THURROCK businesses impacted by COVID-19 restrictions can now apply for a Business Adaptation Grant of up to £2,500. The purpose of the government funded grant is to help local businesses and support Thurrock’s economic recovery. Thurrock Council has developed the grant programme to support small to medium businesses that have been hit by the cost of implementing social distancing and safety measures. THIS seat flatters to deceive. Lots of parties fancy their chances but the reality check is the 2019 result where Shane Hebb won by 608 votes. Terry Piccolo has had a difficult year (logistically) as Mayor. It has not been the year he would have wanted and maybe he is keen to go back to the back bench. Terry was the classic community activist who took the next logical step and so he will be keen to get back to local ward politics. It will be a good night for the Thurrock Independents if they poll over 300. In fact there polling will be worth watching all over the borough.
