Singer-songwriter Julia Pratt released her latest single on Friday. 'A Little Love' is a duet with Mt. Joy frontman Matt Quinn. The two became friends last year after Pratt covered Mt. Joy's 'Dirty Love' and Quinn invited her on stage to perform with the band at the Mann Center last September. Pratt and Quinn both grew up in the Philadelphia area.
Indie roots rockers, Mt. Joy will play two nights in their hometown at the Mann Music Center August 12th and 13th. The band has joined forces with Philadelphia’s Sharing Excess to host a non-perishable food drive both nights. As concert goers make their donations (canned goods, pasta, boxed food, etc.), they will be entered into a raffle to win items that include signed merch and a chance to watch the show intimately from the side of the stage. Mt.
The funds will allow Sharing Excess to expand its footprint to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and make key hires in sourcing, fundraising, and technology development.
Heights Philadelphia and Sharing Excess will use the grants to expand their reach in college and career readiness, and in tech-enabled food access, respectively.
