An 84-year-old murder suspect who police said confessed to shooting his 78-year-old former girlfriend, is not expected to answer to the charge in a courtroom now after an expert determined he is not competent to stand trial.

Wilson Elliott, 83, of Trinity, Texas was arrested Sunday and is accused of fatally shooting Sharon Radebaugh, 78, in Rowlett, according to police.
Rowlett investigators said that the killing “stemmed from a previous relationship."
