Victim identified in Northeast Portland homicide Updated Feb 26, 2021; Portland police have identified the person who was killed in Northeast Portland Thursday night, in a shooting that also left two others hospitalized. Officers said Shawndell DeShazo II, 28, died of gunshot wounds at a nearby hospital. Police did not offer any details about the circumstances of the shooting or whether they have identified a suspect, but said DeShazo’s death was ruled a homicide. Police said they responded to Northeast 66th Avenue and Broadway Street around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, where they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital in an ambulance and are believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not identify either of those victims.

At about 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Northeast 120th Avenue. Police found an adult male victim with a stab wound at that location. The victim died at the scene. Detectives from the Homicide Division are investigating the man s death. The cause and manner of his death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner. Two of the incidents, including a fatal stabbing, happened in the Hazelwood Neighborhood. Police identified the stabbing victim as Isaiah Jason Maza Jr., 19. The names of the other victims were not immediately released. No suspect information was immediately released, either. Officers responded to Lombard Street east of Columbia Park at 9:50 p.m. and found one person who appeared to have been shot, according to Portland police. The person wasn’t publicly identified by name, age or gender, and their condition wasn’t immediately available. No arrests have been announced, and an investigation is underway. The shooting is one of at least three Monday in the Portland area.
