The candidates are defense attorney Mark Flores and Summit County prosecutor Janet Elledge as well as Wasatch County and Lindon City Justice Court Judge Brook Sessions.
The first public hearing about tax increases is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sheldon Richins Building located at 1885 West Ute Blvd. The second hearing is set for Dec. 13 at the Summit County Courthouse. Both meetings will be live streamed.
“We were shaking the couch upside down looking for coins,” Summit County Manager Shayne Scott said.
A Summit County homeowner with a property valued at $1.3 million would see their taxes increase from $290.75 to $336.24 under the current proposal. A commercial business would go up by around $82 a year.
