Back-to-School Block Party kicks off the school year

Mayor Sokhary Chau hosted a Back-to-School Block Party at Sheehy Park on Aug. 27 that provided both fun and school supplies for the city’s students as they kick off the new school year. Lowell Public Schools provided 1,000 backpacks that were given to students. The event was also supported by the Lowell City Manager’s Office, Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, Tenesha Scarlett and other local partners.
