Wednesday, March 3, 2021 Carl Raymond “Ray” Ritchey, 79, of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield. He was born Jan. 14, 1942, in St. Joseph, the son of Uriah Edward and Dorothy (Connell) Ritchey. On July 4, 1971, in Liberty, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Kaye (Holder) who preceded him in death on May 25, 2009. Also preceding him in death were his parents. He was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Quinlan, Okla., the son of Roy and Laverne Johns. He received his diploma from Quinlan High School in 1943, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Asbury College in 1950, and later, a master’s degree from Wichita State University.
