Vehicle fire sparks garage blaze
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 10:11 a.m. of a vehicle on fire inside a detached garage at a residence in Shell River Township near Menahga.

Vehicle and detached garage destroyed in fire
Fire departments were able to extinguish the fire quickly and no injuries were reported. The fire is believed to have started because of a mechanical issue with the vehicle.

4 commissioner seats open for election following Wadena County redistricting
Districts 1,3, 4 and 5 will be on the 2022 ballot. Districts 1, 3 and 5 were already due for four-year term elections this year; district 4 will be a two-year term.
