Two school workers have filed suit claiming a central Alabama school system is wrongly trying to make them repay more than $55,000 total in salary that administrators claim they weren’t due.
Chilton County Schools made the mistake of putting the wrong salaries on some of its workers, who are now asked to agree to a payment plan or incur interest if they cannot pay it back.
"We are mindful of the financial impact that this matter can have on our employees," the district said in a statement.
