Bushiri’s spokesman, Ephraim Nyondo, confirmed the development to Nyasa Times in an interview Friday morning.

“Further, we sell through our Facebook followers on the Prophet’s page which has 4.5 million followers. According to our statistics, over 85 percent of the followers on his page have purchased the book.

Home affairs minister Aaron Motsoaledi on Tuesday likened reports that self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary had been slipping in and out of the country without a trace to that of the existence of the babies dubbed the “Thembisa 10".
“It looks like it is becoming common practice for the media to send the country on a merry-go-round to prove things that do not exist,” said Motsoaledi.
The minister, who was responding to questions at the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), was referring to a City Press report which claimed that Bushiri had again managed to flee from authorities in SA. According to the report, Bushiri was in SA in April and managed to flee before being arrested.

JUSTICE MALALA | From imaginary babies to plots against Zuma, SA gives birth to lies daily
As a nation we should be less gullible, ask more questions and seek proof and facts
13 June 2021 - 17:52
The reality of SA is right in front of us. We just have to stop believing the snake oil salesmen who are trying to deceive us with lies to divert us from the truth.
First, there is no evidence of any record-breaking babies. There are no medical professionals, no medical institutions, no official bodies which have confirmed that they are treating a patient who has given birth to 10 babies. No self-respecting junior reporter would have touched such a story with a barge pole. A half-decent news editor would have thrown it out. A real editor would fire anyone who presented such a thin piece of work...

Malawi’s Lilongwe Magistrates Court has quashed an application by the state to allow South African witnesses to testify against the Bushiris virtually in the extradition case.
In his ruling, Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Chirwa agreed with arguments by the defence team, which is led by Wapona Kita, that the application has no legal basis. This means that South African witnesses in the extradition case have to travel to Malawi to testify.
Kita has reacted to the magistrate’s decision. “The way the deputy wanted to proceed with the matter was just to lay the documents before the court but giving us the opportunity to cross-examine the witnesses. So I say no, that isn’t how things happen, so can we restart all over,” says Kita.

Bushiri is a Maverick Industry," Analysts say

“I was thinking about the benefits.”
Malawi’s tourist industry is vital to the overall economy of the country and significantly supports huge numbers of local Malawians through employment and community projects, as well as helping conserving the nation’s natural riches.
Dubbed the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ Malawi is a pot of gold, which is relatively a little known visitors-destination gem has so much to offer; wildlife, culture, scenery, adventure, Mulanje mountain and its peak, Sapitwa and hills, and, of course, the third largest fresh water lake in Africa, the beautiful Lake Malawi.

RUSTENBERG – The Southern African Development Community (SADC) protocol on extradition which the South African government used in a request to Malawi will not be in proceedings against fugitive Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary, local media in that country reported.
The charismatic preacher and his wife are wanted in South Africa, from where they fled ahead of trial for fraud and money laundering charges related to an investment scheme valued at about R99 million.
The SADC protocol is not part of the laws of Malawi and therefore irrelevant in the case, news website Malawi24 reported on Wednesday, citing a ruling by magistrate Patrick Chirwa who said he would only rely on the 1972 extradition agreement between Malawi and South Africa.
