NO GROUNDS FOR SUSPENSION – SAYS MOGALADI
Mogaladi’s legal counsel has reportedly served Makgoba and Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize’s offices with documentation notifying them of his intention to appeal the Ombudsman’s report and the resulting suspension.
A statement from Mogaladi indicates he does not believe there is a basis for disciplinary action against him. He has further accused the Gauteng Health Department of bias over the appointment of an interim CEO, without “considering Mogaladi’s representation”.

Government seems to revel in the misery of those who put them into power. Are we truly stunned by the horrific accounts that led to the tragic death of Shonisani Lethole at Tembisa Hospital?
Awukho umehluko, there’s absolutely no difference from the treatment dealt to blacks in the then Bantu public hospitals. In fact, the situation has worsened. We know the notoriety of Dora Nginza Hospital in Port Elizabeth, Cecil Makiwane Hospital in Mdantsane, OR Tambo Hospital in Boksburg, Witbank Hospital in Emalahleni – the list is endless to the unconverted who don’t turn a blind eye or a deaf ear.

Parliament's health portfolio committee has called for the health department to upgrade infrastructure and address staffing issues at Tembisa Tertiary Hospital.
On Monday, the committee said it visited the hospital on Saturday following the release of the report which detailed circumstances surrounding the care and death of Shonisani Lethole in the hospital last June.
The committee had visited the hospital early last year to assess its state of preparedness for the Covid-19 pandemic. It said while it expressed satisfaction at the time, the institution needs more work to function effectively.

Johannesburg - The Gauteng Department of Health has issued Tembisa Hospital chief executive Dr Lekopane Mogaladi with a notice of suspension after Health Ombudsman Professor Malegapuru Makgoba’s damning report published last week.
Mogaladi has five days to furnish the department with reasons why he should not be suspended, said Gauteng Health MEC Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi.
Mokgethi said they had issued the suspension notice to Mogaladi in line with Makgoba’s recommendations after he found that there was gross medical negligence at the hands of doctors, nurses and food handlers, leading to the avoidable death of patient Shonisani Lethole.
